Is Dream packaging recyclable?
All Dream products come in recyclable Tetra Pak cartons. The main material in our packaging is cardboard that is produced exclusively from wood fibre from sustainably managed forests. This type of packaging can be transported with minimal environmental impact compared to bottles, as far fewer lorries are needed. Tetra Paks are now being collected for recycling by some local councils in the UK. For more information visit the Tetrapak website. The Tetra Pak packaging used for Rice Dream has been awarded FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) accreditation, meaning it complies with the highest environmental and social standards. Look out for the FSC logo which will be appearing on all Rice Dream cartons. For more details visit the FSC website.
In September 2009 we moved to a new environmentally friendly office and warehouse building. It was constructed in part from local timber, with is sealed with natural paints and oils. We get as much of our electricity as possible from solar panels, with the rest coming from renewable sources. All rainwater is collected and used. Where possible our employees use trains rather than planes, and cars with low CO2 emissions. Our low carbon footprint is fully offset by supporting a project in Rajasthan, Northern India.
