Sage and onion sauce

Creamy and packed with flavour this delicious sauce is wonderful served with roast chicken, duck and pork. Make in advance and freeze for up to 1 month.
Ingredients
1 tbsp vegan spread or coconut oil
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp flour
3 medium onions, peeled and finely diced
200ml dry white wine
6 large fresh sage leaves, finely chopped
150ml Oat Dream
Method
- Heat the spread and oil in a large, nonstick frying pan over a low-medium heat, then tip in the onions.
- Cook over a very low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until very soft.
- Add the flour and stir for a further 5 minutes.
- Gradually pour in the white wine and stir until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Stir in the sage leaves and oat dream and bring to the boil.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Season to taste, then pour into a jug to serve.
